About the Role:
As a Payroll Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll cycles for APAC region. You will collaborate with team members to handle payroll requests, solve discrepancies, and support various payroll projects.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll transactions with minimal supervision.
• Review and verify payroll inputs and outputs.
• Address and resolve basic payroll discrepancies.
• Prepare and distribute payroll checks and direct deposits.
• Assist in payroll tax filings and compliance tasks.
• Maintain updated payroll records and ensure accuracy.
• Generate payroll reports for management.
• Support employee inquiries and provide payroll information.
• Participate in auditing payroll records.
• Assist in payroll system updates and improvements.
Project Management:
Ensure that all compliance projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
Follows up and assists in accessing information, troubleshooting problems and resolving any issues.
Provide timely and accurate information for incoming internal/external requests.
Process:
Detail and document the high-level transaction flow, identify the risks inherent in the process and the controls required.
Detail and document the controls in operation, detail how the controls mitigate the risks identified.
Detail the evidence expected by the operation of the controls, identify responsibility for control operation and control review.
Develop and implement a robust control framework to govern the accuracy and effectiveness of Payroll input/output.
Develop and implement automation opportunities that minimizes the human intervention between data points within Workday and other vendor systems and Payroll input file.
Compliance:
Understand and document in detail the payroll compliance requirements in each country, including post payroll activities and relation with authorities.
Identify areas of risk for global compliance and identify strategies and plans to mitigate risks.
Conduct proactive research into upcoming compliance changes, prioritize changes based on the proximity of the impact.
Maintains knowledge of trends and best practices related to regulatory changes and new technologies in Payroll team.
Support new country global expansion efforts by partnering with other team members to identify compliance requirements and enable adherence to local laws.
Keep compliance requirements updated in all internal documents (eg. SOP’s and Runbook) and work with payroll team to follow all steps.
Keep detailed process and steps to be follow for every country specific requirement.
Act as a back-up for Payroll compliance requirements
Audit:
Manage the E2E audit requirements for Payroll Team, proactively anticipating issue areas and ensuring compliance.
Manage the relationship between Risk / Audit and Payroll Team, including leading on internal risk and audit activities.
Maintain database of key resources by country and check frequently (intern and extern) – make sure to have minimum a back-up person per system/application, on top of Payroll Manager.
