Job Description

ByteDance's Pico lab in San Jose seeks a PCB Design Layout Engineer. Responsibilities include designing and laying out high-density PCBs using Altium Designer and Cadence Allegro, creating component libraries, handling placement and routing, and ensuring design rule checks. The ideal candidate possesses extensive expertise in both Altium and Cadence, understands mixed-signal PCB design, manufacturing, and assembly processes, and communicates effectively with cross-functional teams. The role requires 5+ years of professional experience with a strong background in high-complexity board design.

Must have:

5+ years PCB layout experience in Altium & Cadence Allegro
50+ complex board designs using Altium & Cadence
Proficient in mixed-signal PCB design & manufacturing
Excellent communication & collaboration skills

Good to have:

Schematic capture experience
Board testing and bring-up experience

About Team As a world-renowned VR/AR brand with independent innovation and R&D capabilities, Pico has been at the forefront of the consumer electronic market. We have teams in Europe, Japan and South Korea. Now we are looking for experts in image pipeline to join us to build our AR/VR imaging team. Responsibilities - Design and layout high density printed circuit boards (PCBs) using Altium Designer & Cadence Allegro - Make component symbols and footprint libraries. - Design from early placement through routing and final rule checks. - Place high density and high quantity of components - Thorough and extensive understanding of Altium Designer & Cadence Allegro. Including all aspects of Constraint manager, Importing/exporting of a multitude of varying filetypes, design details, and processes. - Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality PCB designs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or related degree program with 5+ years of proven experience. - 5+ professional industrial layout experience in BOTH Altium Designer & Cadence Allegro. - 50+ highly complex boards experience using Altium Designer & Cadence Allegro. - Detailed knowledge of mixed signal PCB design layout, PCB manufacturing, and PCB assembly technologies and processes. Preferred Qualifications - Schematic capture experience. - Board testing and bring-up experience. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $126000 - $306000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).​
