Job Description

Gala is seeking a QA Automation Engineer (Contractor) to set up and maintain test automation frameworks across web, desktop, and mobile platforms. Responsibilities include creating and executing test cases, debugging, documenting test plans, collaborating with various teams, designing comprehensive test plans, testing functionality and usability, and documenting processes. The ideal candidate will have experience with Selenium-based frameworks, modern front-end and back-end technologies, and excellent communication skills. Additional responsibilities include investigating support tickets, managing bug reports, building test scenarios, handling technical communication, working with deployment teams, integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines, implementing best practices, integrating tests with 3rd party services, and providing reporting capabilities. The role also includes setting up and maintaining load and API testing.

Must have:

5+ years automation testing experience
Selenium-based framework expertise
Experience with web, desktop, and mobile app testing
Excellent communication & teamwork
Proficient in Javascript, NodeJS, Git, Postman

Good to have:

Experience with Blockchain, NFT, Cryptocurrency
Smart contract testing/automation (Rinkeby)
Webdriverio and Mocha experience
Gitlab and Gitlab CI experience
Load testing tools experience

The Role

QA Automation Engineer should be able to set up and maintain test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms like web, desktop and mobile.
Investigate problems referred by our technical support team.
Manage and create bug reports all while keeping close communication with the team.
Able to build multiple test scenarios and acceptance tests.
QA Automation Engineer need to handle technical communications with colleagues to understand client’s systems or APIs.
QA Automation Engineer work with deployment teams and help resolve any level issues for the system.
QA Automation Engineer should be able to integrate and maintain automated tests in the CI/CD pipelines.
Implement best practice and coding standards for automation testing.
Integrate tests with 3rd party services required for testing.
Provide reporting capabilities to qualify and quantify what has been tested by the automated tests.
QA Automation Engineer should be able to set up and maintain load testing
QA Automation Engineer should be able to set up and maintain API testing

Responsibilities

Creating test cases, executing test cases, debugging, and documenting test plans all while displaying results in agile development environment
Collaborating with development, product, design and other teams to ideate software solutions
Designing comprehensive test plans to test both client-side and server-side changes
Testing with empathy for the end user in mind, not only functionality but also useability and design
Documenting test notes, process, training and onboarding materials at the department level

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test, QA Automation Engineer or similar role
Experience developing test plans for desktop and mobile applications
Experience using a Selenium-based test automation framework (Webdriverio, RSpec, PyTest /w Selenium, etc)
Knowledge of modern front-end and back-end technologies that you will be required to test
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Great attention to detail
Organizational skills
An analytical mind

Nice-to-have Skills and Qualifications

Love of games and a desire to work for a company that builds games
Comfort with working remotely on a full-time basis
Experience working with Blockchain, NFT, and/or Cryptocurrency technologies
Experience with smart contract testing/automation preferably Rinkeby
Experience with Webdriverio and Mocha
Experience with Gitlab and Gitlab CI
Experience with Postman
Experience with load testing tools

Education

Computer Science Degree or equivalent
Minimum of 5 yrs experience in automation testing
