Our Marketing team is searching for a Senior Director Corporate Communications & PR to lead the growth of our communications efforts, establishing ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) as the foremost authority in esports and entertainment while increasing our visibility among consumers and corporate stakeholders. In this role, you’ll oversee our Corporate Communications and PR strategy, guiding a team of dedicated professionals to create and share compelling narratives for diverse target audiences.

This leadership position will be crucial in shaping our corporate image, enhancing our reputation, and expanding our brand visibility across endemic, B2C, and B2B platforms.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced communications professional with a strong grasp of the esports industry. You will be responsible for developing and executing top-tier communications strategies that align with the company’s mission and objectives, including corporate communications and B2B efforts, while collaborating with agencies on endemic communications.

We're seeking individuals who have a passionate curiosity for esports and gaming, with backgrounds in entertainment, sports, or technology. The ideal candidate will reside in the CET timezone +/- 1 hour.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver strategic and creative communications activities that drive awareness of our company, product innovation, content offerings, and initiatives. 

  • Executive Communications: Advise and support senior leadership in communication, including public speaking engagements and thought leadership pieces.
  • Media Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, editors, and key industry influencers to secure media coverage and positive press for EFG. 
  • Content Development: Oversee the creation of compelling content, including press releases, blog posts, articles, and social media content, to promote EFG's initiatives, achievements, and values.
  • Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis communication strategies and act as the lead spokesperson during crisis situations, maintaining a steady and consistent message. You have a great understanding of the message, impact, and channels that can influence how EFG is represented in the media. 
  • Work together with the Internal Communications team: Lead internal communications initiatives to ensure employees are well-informed and aligned with the company's mission and goals.
  • Measurement and Analytics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilize data-driven insights to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust them as necessary.
  • Budget Management: Manage the communications and PR budget effectively, allocating resources efficiently.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with leadership to develop the long-term Corporate Communications strategy for EFG and its broad portfolio of brands and products, based on the company objectives, to position the company as the world’s leading esports company.
  • Create a proactive activity calendar of PR-related activities updated quarterly.
  • Manage a team of communication professionals, and relationships with external PR agencies, who will execute the developed strategy and calendar.
  • Own and allocate EFG’s PR budget towards campaigns, agencies, and other activities.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in our Marketing, Product, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment between corporate communications, community management, and product releases.
  • Develop and maintain best practices and ways of working for the PR team to ensure continuous improvement, high transparency, and an objective-driven approach to communication.

Requirements

What you need:

  • You are an impactful storyteller with a deep understanding of global press 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or English or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations
  • An understanding of the esports and gaming industry
  • Proven experience in leading teams within the communications field
  • Proven experience in developing and managing PR & communication strategies
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to adapt in a changing environment
