Role Overview

As a Rigger, you will be responsible for creating and implementing rigs for characters, creatures, and objects to ensure smooth and natural animation. Your work will be integral to bringing our assets to life and enhancing the visual quality of our projects.

What You Can Expect to Work On

  • Design and develop rigs for characters, creatures, and objects, ensuring they are functional, intuitive, and easy to use for animators.
  • Collaborate with animators, modellers, and other team members to understand the requirements and constraints of each rig.
  • Create and maintain control systems that support a wide range of animation styles and techniques.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve rigging issues, ensuring rigs perform as expected in various scenarios.
  • Optimise rigs for performance, taking into account real-time constraints and technical limitations.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve rigging workflows and practices.
  • Document rigging processes and provide guidance and training to other team members as needed.
  • Provide feedback to rigs produced by internal members of the team as well as external parties.

Requirements

What You Need to Succeed

  • Proven experience as a rigger in the gaming industry with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard rigging tools and software (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max).
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, motion, and deformation principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Python or MEL scripting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
  • Experience with advanced rigging techniques and tools.

About The Company

In Southeast Asia (SEA), unicorn exits and tech company listings have proven to offer founders and investors unrealistic expectations, given the maturity of the market. This dilemma has left founders in a challenging position as they have to optimise for the outsized outcomes investors that follow Western narratives desire, while facing the reality of the consumer landscape.

At LiquidX, we aim to shift this narrative and demonstrate that it is possible to achieve large-scale outcomes by using a distinct approach to company building. Through a holding company (holdco) structure, we will build multiple cash flow-positive businesses that can, but do not necessarily have to, rely on venture scale narratives.

The usual arguments against this approach are as follows: 

 1) The focus of founders will be divided, hence ineffective.

 2) We won’t be able to get top-tier talent to build companies this way.

 3) That Venture scale outcomes are not possible.

We believe all 3 arguments above are false narratives, and aim to prove that this new (to tech) model of company building is the optimal approach for emerging markets. Along this journey, we aspire to ensure that everyone involved enjoys the process.
