Job Description

This Senior Software Engineer, AI/ML role at Google involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing large-scale software solutions. You will provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, manage project priorities, and facilitate alignment across teams. The position requires expertise in ML algorithms, tools (e.g., TensorFlow), and infrastructure optimization. Responsibilities include driving technical strategy, leading large-scale ML infrastructure optimization, and overseeing the design and implementation of solutions across multiple specialized ML areas. Experience with deep learning, natural language processing, and large language models is highly valued.

Must have:

5+ years software development experience
3+ years leading ML projects
3+ years experience with ML algorithms and tools
Expertise in ML infrastructure optimization
Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Good to have:

Master's or PhD in related field
Experience in complex, matrixed organizations
Experience with TensorFlow
Deep Learning, NLP, Content Understanding expertise

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience leading technical project strategy, ML design, and optimizing industry-scale Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
3 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g. TensorFlow), or applied ML (e.g., deep learning, natural language processing, content understanding, rare-event classification, Large Language Model).

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
