This Senior Software Engineer position at WebMD Health Corp. Must have:

5+ years hands-on experience with ETL tools like Pentaho

Good to have:

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl or Python
Experience with reporting platforms like Tableau or Cognos
Knowledge about Web analytics or Business Intelligence
Knowledge of GCP

Education: B.E. Computer Science/IT degree (or any other engineering discipline)
Experience: 5+ years
Work timings: 2 PM to 11 PM IST

Position Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience with traditional database development on Oracle/MSSQL/PostgreSQL

Experience with SQL, Pentaho (Or Informatica, Talend, SSIS Or any Data Integration Tool), AirFlow Orchestration Tool (Or any scheduler).
Minimum 2 years’ experience with databases other than Oracle/MSSQL/PostgreSQL, such as Vertica, MongoDB, or HDFS/HIVE
Minimum 5 years’ hands on experience with ETL tool - Pentaho
Experience with Talend, SSIS, Informatica or Data Stage
Experience working closely with Business Intelligence, Finance, Marketing and Sales teams
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl or Python is good to have
Experience with the reporting platforms such as Tableau or Cognos will be an added advantage
Knowledge about Web analytics or Business Intelligence is good to have
Knowledge of GCP is good to have
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Self-motivated with willingness to learn new technologies and business, and willing to take initiative beyond basic responsibilities

Responsibilities:
Design, develop and support multiple data projects in traditional relational databases such as Oracle, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL as well as non-traditional databases such as Vertica and MongoDB
Analyse business requirements, design, and implement required data model and ETL processes
Participate in data architecture and engineering decision making/planning
Create an enterprise-level data inventory regardless of source, format, structure
Connect and integrate individual datasets for better analysis and transparency between the data
Translate complex technical subjects into terms that can be understood by both technical and non- technical audiences
