With this position we offer
Join the Mumbai finance team for Adenza India. The main objective for the finance team in Mumbai is to provide global support services to the global Nasdaq group. As our new member, you will work with a group of enthusiastic and experienced team members. Together with your team, you will be responsible for delivery and support for all matters related to global employment taxes.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Advise businesses and head office function on specific domestic and global employment tax issues, liaising with external advisors where necessary
- Provide updates to the businesses on new legislation relevant to the management of employment taxes; providing insight into implications and recommendations on actions as appropriate!
- Design and implement employment tax policies, processes, and controls
- Collaborate with HR team and advise on global mobility tax implications as well as short term business travel tax implications
- Own tax equalization program and handle foreign personal income tax compliance for home and host countries, which includes gathering and reviewing data for return preparation, compiling travel calendars, reviewing and filing returns, and coordinating between assignees and external vendors
- Coordinate timely with Finance to arrange for the tax payments in various countries as needed
- Maintain and monitor tax calendar and to-do lists to ensure various elements are completed timely
- Actively supply to the business’ international expansion plans by providing local employment tax input in respect of new jurisdictions
- Support HR in resolving group’s UK IR35 / global contractor tax risks where appropriate
- Build positive relationships with external advisers and appropriately implement any employment tax advice sought
- General tax research, as needed!
We expect you to have:
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification tax experience with multi-national firm, Big 4 firm, and/or tax department in a related industry.
- Strong technical understanding of employment taxes plus experience of employment taxes in other jurisdictions and global mobility
- Knowledge and experience of UK and US employment tax issues would be useful
- Ability to review current processes and suggest improvements to maintain continuous improvement in the adaptability of compliance and reporting
- Proactive work style and comfortable working with supervision.
- Demonstrates wider commercial awareness when advising on employment tax matters
- Understanding of tax equalization programs preferred
- Requires a team-player willing and able to work closely with a strong organization.
- Exposure or basic knowledge of foreign country tax laws a plus.
- Education Qualification: Masters in Tax and/or CA equivalent preferred.
