Job Description

As a Software Engineer at Motorola Solutions, you will be responsible for system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. This includes integrating, validating, and testing structures and user documentation. You will also manage customer relationships, develop a communication process, and align efforts to meet customer and business needs. The role involves configuring, preparing, deploying, and creating rollback instructions for production releases. The engineer will create, maintain, support, and improve complex private/public cloud operations. The role requires strong project management skills and an understanding of various systems and cloud platforms.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Familiarity with Windows, ESXi, ILO, and UNIX systems.
  • Knowledge of network routing and networking protocols.
  • Working knowledge with database and SQL query language.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of public cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

Department Overview

The Unified Communications team has a mission to become the leader in creating a highly scalable software platform and communication applications for first responders and industrial workgroups. Our customers rely on these solutions to run their critical business operations in the public safety, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors. The products include client apps on Android, iOS, and Windows. The engineer will create, maintain, support, and improve complex private/public cloud operations for Motorola Solutions.


Job Description

Performing system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. Integrate, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation.


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Windows, ESXi, ILO and UNIX systems (e.g. CentOS, RedHat) and command line system administration such as Bash, VIM, SSH.

  • Network routing, Load balancing and Networking protocols, a base knowledge of TCP/IP, with an understanding of HTTP and DNS

  • Working knowledge with database and skills like SQL query language.

  • Strong project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills.

  • Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process and align efforts to meet customer and business needs.

  • Knowledge on any one of the public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure and architectures like Microservices.

  • Configures and prepares production releases, deploys, and rollback instructions.
