2025 Summer Internship (IT - Data & AI)

You are analytically driven, intellectually curious, and experienced leading the development and implementation of data and analytic solutions to solve challenging business problems. You enjoy collaborating with other data analysts to provide actionable insights from multiple data assets for Guardian.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analytics

• Data wrangling/data matching to explore a variety of data sources, gain data expertise, perform summary analysis and prepare visualization using various BI tools like Tableau, Quick Sight etc.
• Assist in exploratory data analysis and building models.
• Conduct testing and perform data analysis to improve model accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop queries for data processing, data modelling, evaluation, and result analysis.
• Communicate findings, insights, and results clearly to team members and stakeholders.
• Implement new statistical or other methodologies as needed for specific data analysis to identify trends, patterns and provide actionable insights.
• Track and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance.
• Propose innovative ways to look at problems through using data mining, performance tuning / optimization and data visualization.

Data Science

• Data wrangling/data matching to explore a variety of data sources, gain data expertise, perform summary analysis and prepare AI modeling datasets
• Assist in exploratory data analysis and building machine learning models.
• Utilize several python packages for testing the overall performance of the AI model.
• Conduct experiments and perform data analysis to improve model accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop scripts for data processing, model training, evaluation, and result analysis.
• Stay updated with the latest research and trends, data science and the specific work area.
• Communicate findings, insights, and results clearly to team members and stakeholders.
• Implement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis.
• Propose innovative ways to look at problems through using data mining and data visualization

Data Engineering

• Collaborate with data scientists and Data Analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable, high performant data pipeline solutions. Design, implement, validate, and prepare the datasets for AI model.
• Support data discovery & data preparation for model development. Perform detailed analysis of raw data sources by applying business context and collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform raw data into curated & certified data assets to be used for ML and BI use cases.
• Extract text data from variety of sources like documents (Word, PDFs, Text Files, JSON etc.), logs, text notes stored in databases, using Web scrapping method from web pages to support development of NLP / LLM solutions.
• Collaborate with data science and data engineering team to build scalable and reproducible machine learning pipelines for training and inference.
• Assist in developing and maintaining robust tools, frameworks, and libraries that standardize and streamline the data & machine learning lifecycle.
• Adapt standard machine learning methods to best exploit modern parallel environments (e.g. distributed clusters, multicore SMP, and GPU)
