As a Collections Specialist, you will manage key accounts, maintaining relationships with customers and internal teams. Your responsibilities include contacting clients with overdue balances, making payment recommendations, reporting invoice discrepancies, and assisting with payment application issues. The role requires managing accounts with balances ranging from $4 to $15 million, focusing on payment collection and issue resolution, contributing to accounts receivable improvements and ensuring timely payment resolutions.
Must have:
  • Prior experience in collections or account management.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and build relationships.
  • High school degree required, University preferred.
  • Advanced English proficiency is a must.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables).
Good to have:
  • Experience with SAP software is desirable.

Job Description

Take an active role as a Collections Specialists responsible for the collections process with a defined group of customer and key accounts by maintaining excellent relationships with our customers, internal finance leadership, and cross-functional business partners.

Your role:

  • Manage an active customer base of key accounts averaging $4 - $15 million dollars dependent on portfolio mix.

  • Contact clients with past due balances in the portfolio to obtain payment, payment commitment, and follow up on payment promises. Escalate major collection issues with management that may require special attention/ support.

  • Make recommendations to management regarding customers to be placed on hold or sent to collections agency. Accountable for reporting disputed/ short paid invoices, identifying root cause, and collaborating with the internal department to expedite resolution/payment.

  • Assist the cash applications department with resolving payment application discrepancies ensuring adjustments are completed in a timely fashion.

  • Support and develop accounts receivable lean process improvements. Identify issues contributing to account delinquency

You’re the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired previous work experience in collections, customer services or account management role.

  • Your skills include customer centricity, relationship building, assertive communication and negotiation skills. Proactiveness and a process improvement mindset are key.

  • You have a high school degree. University is desirable, preferable in accounting, finance or business administration. Advanced English is a must, as this role will support clients in the North America region. Intermediate Excel (v-lookup and pivot tables) is required and SAP knowledge is desirable.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
