Job Description

The Compositing Artist will work within a Lighting/Comp Team, collaborating with Leads and Key Artists. Responsibilities include translating artistic requests into technical execution, enhancing lighting with visual references to achieve a cinematographic look, and managing various compositing elements such as color grading and effects. The role requires a strong understanding of Nuke, 3D environments, and color management. The artist will also be expected to work within a team, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. The Compositing Artist may work on another mission with another LC team according to the inventory.
Must have:
  • Mastery of Nuke and its 3D environment.
  • Knowledge of Lighting Rendering.
  • Understanding of color and colorimetric management.
  • Knowledge of photography and Cinematography.
  • Knowledge of Deep Compositing.
Good to have:
  • Professional experience on animated films.
  • Experience in lighting.
  • Knowledge of Script Languages associated to Nuke.
  • Knowledge of optics science.
  • Knowledge in creating tools to meet project needs
  • Knowledge in ACES

Description de poste / About the job
  • L’Artiste Compositing va travailler dans une équipe en binôme Lighting/Compo avec ses Leads et Keys dédiés, il pourra avoir de temps en temps des missions dans d’autres équipes selon les inventaires
  • Transcrire et interpréter une demande artistique dans un contexte technique.
  • Sublimer le lighting en s’appuyant sur des références visuels (photographie, concept art, etc…) pour atteindre un look cinématographique (étalonnage, effets, etc…).

  • The compositing artist works with a Light/Comp Team with their Lead and their Key Artists. According to the inventory, the Compositing Artist may work on another mission  with another LC team.
  • Transcribe and interpret artistic requests in a technical environment.
  • Sublimate the lighting by building on visual references (photography, concept art, etc…) to achieve a cinematographic look (grading, effects, etc…).


Pré-requis / Must have
  • Maitrise de Nuke, de son environnement 3D et ses outils.
  • Connaissances sur le Rendu Lighting afin de maitriser les AOVs et les problèmes à corriger comme l’aliasing, le grain etc…
  • Connaissance de la couleur et de la gestion colorimétrique.
  • Connaissance en photographie ou cinématographie.
  • Connaissance du Deep Compositing.

  • Thorough understanding of Nuke, its 3D environment and tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of Lighting Rendering, master AOVs and handle issues as aliasing, granurality, etc…).
  • Understanding of color and colorimetric management.
  • Knowledge of photography and Cinematography.
  • Knowledge of Deep Compositing.


Un petit plus / Nice to have
  • Expérience professionnelle en film d’animation.
  • Expérience en lighting.
  • Connaissances en langage Script associé à Nuke comme TCL, Python ou BlinkScript.
  • Connaissances en optique.
  • Connaissances en création d’outils pour répondre aux besoins du projet.
  • Connaissances en ACES.

  • Maîtrise du français et/ou de l’anglais.
  • Aisance relationnelle
  • Capacité à travailler en équipe, à hiérarchiser les tâches et à respecter les échéances.
  • Disponible pour un poste à Paris (pas de télétravail possible).
  • Nous privilégions les candidatures des européens ou des candidats ayant un permis de travail français. Le processus d’obtention de visa étant complexe et prenant du temps, seuls les candidats avec une expérience significative seront considérés, pour certains rôles uniquement.

  • French and/or English fluency is required
  • Good communication skills and ability to take notes and directions.
  • Ability to work within a team, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Available in Paris (No remote work)
  • We favor European Union citizens or candidates with French work permit. The process of obtaining a visa being so complex and timeconsuming, only foreign candidates with a significative experience will be considered, for a selection of senior jobs.

  • Une variété de compositing (jour/nuit/intérieur/extérieur)
  • Mise en avant des flares, du glow etc.
  • Avoir un breakdown intéressant - il n'est pas nécessaire de mettre toutes les étapes, seulement les étapes clefs des plans (par exemple le travail de la couleur, de l’atmosphère, des effets..)
  • Des projets professionnels et/ou personnels (nous vous invitons à étayer votre bande démo avec des projets personnels se rapprochant du style de nos projets au besoin)

  • A variety of compositing (day/night/indoor/outdoor)
  • Highlighting of flares, glow, etc.
  • Have an interesting breakdown - it's not necessary to include every step, just the key steps of the shots (e.g. color work, atmosphere, effects, etc.).
  • Professional and/or personal projects (we invite you to reinforce your demo reel with personal projects close to the style of our projects, if needed).
