Job Description
Luma Vancouver seeks a Senior Compositor for a short-term contract, working remotely within British Columbia, Canada. Responsibilities include compositing digital and live-action elements for feature films, matching color and lighting, executing 2D/3D tracks, matting, layering, color grading, grain/degrain, paint fixes, rotoscoping, stereo/anamorphic compositing in Nuke, and collaboration with other artists. The ideal candidate possesses at least six years' experience in node-based compositing for feature films, a relevant degree, strong skills in Nuke, 3D rendering techniques, and a keen eye for photorealism. Experience with Katana and Arnold is a plus.
Must have:
- 6+ years' experience in node-based compositing
- Proficiency in Nuke
- Experience with 2D/3D tracking and matting
- Strong color grading and photorealism skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Good to have:
- Katana experience
- Arnold experience

Job Details
Luma Vancouver is looking for Senior level Compositors to join the Vancouver team for a short term contract.
PLEASE NOTE: All positions are Work From Home role. Candidates must be located within British Colombia, and have the legal right to work in Canada to be considered only.
You Can
- Composite both digital and live action elements to create groundbreaking visual effects shots for feature films
- Match colour, lighting and exposure of rendered CG or photographed elements with plate photography
- Execute 2D and 3D Tracks, extract and integrate mattes, layer elements and grade colour
- Grain and degrain when necessary along with paint fixes and rotoscoping
- Understand stereo (3D) and anamorphic compositing in Nuke
- Collaborate with fellow artists from other disciplines to meet challenging production deadlines
You Have
- At least six years of experience in node based Compositing on feature films
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer graphics or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- An understanding of stereo (3D) and anamorphic compositing in Nuke
- A proficiency in 3D multi-pass rendering techniques
- A strong aesthetic eye for photo realism and color space concepts
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- A team oriented mentality with a 'get it done' attitude
- An ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
- An ability to take direction and implement feedback with a positive attitude
- Some Katana and Arnold experience (preferred but not required)
