Job Description

As a High Performance Computing (HPC) Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you'll partner with technical sales teams, serving as an HPC subject matter expert. You'll help customers understand Google Cloud's capabilities, develop cloud solutions, conduct proofs of concept, and troubleshoot technical issues. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, recommending migration paths, leading customer workshops, developing architectural blueprints, and collaborating with product and specialist teams. The role requires extensive experience with cloud-native architecture, HPC, and engagement with technical and executive stakeholders within the manufacturing ISV sector (Siemens, Altair, Dassault, Ansys).

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing, implementing shared file systems, batch scheduling and workload management.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience within the Manufacturing ISV, such as Siemens, Altair, Dassault Software and Ansys.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, high-performance, distributed systems.
  • Experience as an IT infrastructure consultant or enterprise architect in data center transformation strategies, migrations, proposals, or organizational alignment and change management.
  • Experience as a technical sales engineer in a high-performance computing environment or a customer-facing role.
  • Experience designing and implementing HPC systems, including job schedulers, message-passing interfaces, high-speed interconnects and parallel file systems.
  • Experience in lab creations, automation scripts, and API based deployment methodologies.
  • Understanding of common systems management concepts such as image management, patching, automated deployment, etc.

As a High Performance Computing (HPC) Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams as a subject matter expert in HPC to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Recommend and document migration paths, integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
  • Assist Infrastructure Solutions Management teams, contributing to solution and use case assets.
  • Lead workshops for strategic customers to assess existing application/infrastructure environments and organizational readiness. Identify potential use cases for cloud computing and paths to digital transformation.
  • Develop architectural blueprints to enable infrastructure, high performance computing, and mainframe migration opportunities, coordinating with Product and Specialist teams.
