As a Cyber Engagement Lead at Mandiant Consulting, you'll help clients prepare for, mitigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats. Responsibilities include creating and managing resource plans for project delivery, executing projects within budget and timeline, engaging with stakeholders, leading high-performing teams, and creating project plans and reports. You'll also lead the implementation of security strategies, conduct simulations, and remediate vulnerabilities. This role involves collaborating with clients, internal stakeholders, and adhering to enterprise policies. Technical expertise in computer science, operating systems, networking, cloud services, and corporate network environments is essential, along with experience in cybersecurity assessments, incident response, forensic analysis, and threat hunting. The role requires obtaining TS NV1 clearance under the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or experience
  • 4+ years experience in cybersecurity solutions
  • Project management experience
  • Cybersecurity assessments and TTX experience
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27000, NIST CSF)
  • Excellent communication skills
Good to have:
  • Master's degree
  • Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, CRISC)
  • 9+ years of experience
  • Experience across multiple industry verticals

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience assessing and developing cybersecurity solutions and programs across security domains.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Certification in Cyber Security (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC).
  • 9 years of experience in project management building cyber-defense capabilities for multiple customers across different industry verticals.
  • Experience leading cyber security assessments, including Table-Top Exercises (TTX).
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27000, NIST CSF).
  • Ability to present complex security concepts to varied audiences (e.g. technical and executive).

About the job

As a Security Consultant, you will be responsible for helping clients effectively prepare for, proactively mitigate, and detect and respond to cyber security threats. Security Consultants have an understanding of computer science, operating system functionality and networking, cloud services, corporate network environments and how to apply this knowledge to cyber security threats.

As a Security Consultant, you could work on engagements including assisting clients in navigating technically complex and high-profile incidents, performing forensic analysis, threat hunting, and malware triage. You may also test client networks, applications and devices by emulating the latest techniques to help them defend against threats, and will be the technical advocate for information security requirements and provide an in-depth understanding of the information security domain. You will also articulate and present complex concepts to business stakeholders, executive leadership, and technical contributors and successfully lead complex engagements alongside cross functional teams.

As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will play a key role in the planning and execution of cyber security projects. You will assess project delivery needs derived from risk assessments, maturity evaluations, observations from table-top simulations, and other core services, then translate those findings into actionable project plans with defined milestones and deliverables. You will lead the implementation of security strategies, including conducting simulations and driving the remediation of vulnerabilities. You'll collaborate with clients to ensure project success and enhance client security posture.

This role requires obtaining TS NV1 clearance under the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage resource plans to support project delivery. Manage and execute projects within the budget and timeline and leverage modern project management techniques.
  • Engage with stakeholders, users, and subject matter experts to pursue and deliver projects. Lead a high-performing engagement delivery team, and encourage an accountable performance culture.
  • Create and maintain project plans, as well as provide accurate and timely reports on project status. Focus on objectives, capabilities, and service results and benefits. Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and customers on consulting pre-sales and support actions to enhance visibility on the consulting practice.
  • Adhere to enterprise policies and systems, including finance, safety, environmental, risk, and compliance. Demonstrate safety behaviors consistent with enterprise strategies, and manage projects according to accountability requirements.
