Director of Procurement
Meet The Team
- The Procurement Director leads Silicon Labs’ worldwide organization for purchasing indirect goods and services critical to our operations.
- Responsible for optimizing sourcing and procurement to ensure cost-effectiveness, efficiency, process integrity and compliance with internal and external regulations and standards.
- Contractor management, procurement, and purchase order administration report to this position.
- Indirect procurement resides within the Legal and Corporate Services department and reports through the office of the General Counsel.
- This position will be based in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee sourcing and vendor management, contract and pricing negotiations.
- Oversee a team of purchasing professionals to expedite purchase order processing.
- Oversee procedural aspects of procuring and administering contractors.
- Establish and enforce indirect purchasing policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement the indirect procurement strategy aligned with the company's objectives and growth plans.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing indirect procurement team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and identify opportunities for skill development.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring continuous improvement in supplier performance.
- Evaluate and monitor supplier capabilities.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation, strategic sourcing, and innovative procurement strategies.
- Implement and champion cost optimization projects while maintaining the highest standards of product and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within the indirect procurement function.
- Integrate advanced technologies to streamline procurement processes and enhance data analytics capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including R&D, manufacturing, quality, sales, marketing, corporate services, legal, HR and finance, to align procurement activities with the Silicon Labs business development goals.
- Work closely with IT to select, define, develop and launch new procurement tools and other strategic initiatives.
- Develop and manage the indirect procurement budget, ensuring effective cost control and resource allocation.
- Establish and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership.
Skills You Will Need:
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in a senior procurement leadership role within the technology industry.
- In-depth knowledge of indirect procurement strategies, best practices and process improvement.
- Knowledge of accounting & MS office software; SAP experience will be a significant plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA) is a plus.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and a team player.
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
- Experience in multi-national environment preferred.
- Expected travel to Silicon Labs offices in Europe and Asia on an annual basis.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $140,952 - $261,769 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
