Job Description

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining diagnostic x-ray and image-guided therapy equipment for clients in Orange County and South Bay, California. The role involves repairing and performing preventative maintenance, resolving customer issues, and providing appropriate communication with Service and Sales Personnel. The engineer will also be expected to interpret technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables. This position requires the ability to work in various settings, including offices, remote environments, and healthcare facilities. The engineer must adhere to the company's safety protocols and be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call rotations.
Must have:
  • 2+ years of experience in diagnostic imaging service environment
  • Ability to apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory
  • Associate Degree in electronics or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work in a hospital/healthcare environment
Good to have:
  • BSEE/BSEET/BSME/BSMET preferred

Job Description

Field Service Engineer - DXR/IGT (Orange County/South Bay, CA)

This position will support our clients in the Orange County and South Bay, California areas to install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain our diagnostic x-ray and image-guided therapy equipment.

Your role:

  • Assist in service repair, preventative maintenance, and field change orders/installations for our diagnostic x-ray and image-guided therapy equipment.
  • Identification and resolution of customer issues, providing the customer with the appropriate communication and involving appropriate Service and Sales Personnel
  • Defines problems: Collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions. Has the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired 2+ years of experience in a diagnostic imaging (field or hospital-based) service environment or 4+ years’ in electromechanical industries.
  • Your skills include the ability to understand and apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory to install, diagnose, and repair equipment, including knowledge and use of all necessary tools and test equipment.
  • You have an Associate Degree in electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience; BSEE/BSEET/BSME/BSMET preferred.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Field Service position.
  • You must be able to:
    • Work in an office/home office and/or remote setting, as well as in a hospital/healthcare environment; adhere to requirements.
    • Work flexible hours (based on business needs to include overtime, weekends, and on-call rotations).
    • Safely work with radiation sources and/or radioactive materials; wear all required personal protective equipment.

        Philips Transparency Details

        The hourly pay range for this position in California is $36.75–$58.80, plus overtime eligible. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.    

        In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive plan, field service incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives, may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here

        US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa now or in the future.

        For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance of the Greater Los Angeles area.
