Position Overview:

We are seeking a Game Designer (Systems) to design and develop game systems and features for our 3D, open-world, educational MMO. This role involves creating modular, reusable game components and integrating in-game educational systems and tools to enhance the player experience. You will be responsible for the design and documentation of game systems, items, and meta-game experiences, ensuring they align with our educational goals. This is a remote role accepting applicants across the US, with Stemuli based in Dallas.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and document game systems, including inventory, dialog, events, economy, avatar, and authoring tools
  • Create and document modular, reusable game components
  • Design and document game items and in-game educational systems and tools
  • Develop and document single and multiplayer meta-game experiences
  • Generate innovative ideas for game systems and features
  • Provide direction on sound design (SFX/Music) for quests
  • Collaborate with development staff to ensure the design vision is achieved


What We're Searching For:

  • 3+ years of game design experience, with a focus on systems and features
  • Experience with Unity
  • Experience working on open world, MMORPG, or other quest-based games
  • Strong skills in diagramming and documentation


We Prefer If You Have:

  • Experience designing educational games or a background in education
  • Experience with multiplayer game design
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
