Job Description

The Head of Compliance for OKX Argentina will be responsible for the overall compliance culture, advising on regulatory obligations, and managing enterprise risk. Responsibilities include acting as the Primary Compliance Officer, representing the compliance program to stakeholders, leading strategic direction, developing compliance policies, and engaging cross-functionally to implement an effective compliance management program. The role also involves overseeing compliance reviews, preparing reports, and assisting with special projects, requiring the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must have:

10+ years of compliance experience in financial services or crypto
Knowledge of Argentinian laws and regulations
Strong leadership and people management skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and presentation skills, English and Spanish

Good to have:

Prior experience working in a US multinational or matrix environment
Prior experience working in the crypto industry
CAMS, ICA, FIBA or equivalent certification

About the Team

The Compliance function at OKX is responsible for the overall compliance culture at the company. We’re a team of risk-minded problem solvers who advise the business on the company’s regulatory obligations and enterprise risk.

What You'll be Doing:

Acting as the Primary Compliance Officer for OKX Argentina
Serving on the Board of OKX Argentina
Representing Compliance program to regulators, core infrastructure partners, and other key external stakeholders
Leading strategic direction, training and advisory support with regards to Compliance in Argentina
Developing and maintaining robust compliance policies, procedures, controls, and frameworks
Engaging cross-functionally (with groups such as Legal, Licensing, Data, Engineering, Finance, Product, and Risk) to implement an effective compliance management program in line with the global standards and industry best practices.
Planning for, monitoring, and assessing compliance with laws, regulations and policies (current and proposed regulatory framework of the CNV, UIF, etc) and similar types of regulation regionally.
Overseeing compliance reviews and investigations.
Preparing Compliance reports, including reports to management and the board, and other materials as required by direct and matrix stakeholders and submit timely.
Assisting with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Supporting OKX’s exchange in El Salvador as needed

What We Look For in You:

10+ years of experience in compliance within financial services, FinTech or cryptocurrency industries. Either regulatory/licensing advisory or financial crime or both.
Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the crypto industry.
Experience and knowledge of relevant Argentinian laws and requirements (AML/CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, privacy) and managing regulatory engagements.
Strong leadership and people management skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Proven ability to work within and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, critical thinker and adept at working independently and in a dispersed team environment covering multiple and varied tasks
Intuitive, highly ethical and comfortable to question and challenge
Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, in both English and Spanish, as well as working knowledge of Portuguese.
