What You Will Do:
HoYoverse prides itself on creating a creative, positive, welcoming and collaborative work environment. To continue to foster this, we are looking for a HR Specialist to support our growing North America people needs, encompassing our two offices in Los Angeles and Montreal as well as our remote team members all across the region. The role is ideally based in Los Angeles and hybrid out of our Santa Monica office, but we support remote work for the right candidate. You will join a talented and high performing HRG team on a mission to support the needs of our world-class talent that is creating exciting games and other interactive entertainment products for HoYoverse. We believe people do great work when their needs are taken care of. This position will divide the responsibilities between Canada and US, supporting a wide range of activities across the full employee lifecycle. This role requires a deep understanding of North America HR best-in-class practices, laws, benefits and practical implementation (especially Canada).
- Service as the primary contact for inquires related to policies, procedures, payroll, employee taxation, benefits, leaves of absence, data reporting, and international transfers etc. across various development & marketing teams.
- Partner with our other HR functions (Talent Acquisition, Business Partners, Compensation & Benefits, Employer Branding, Internal Referral, etc.) to support and execute on various human resources programs, ensuring that the employee experience is exceptional, and the process is continuously optimized.
- Manage the semi-monthly payroll process for Canada team, enduring accuracy and timeliness in all payroll-related tasks.
- Assist the financial team with monthly consolidation reports, providing accurate and timely information.
- Ensure the integrity of employee data by processing HR transactions in our core HRIS.
- Coordinate employee training and development programs.
- Maintain and update employee records and ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist the HR team with prioritizing HR-related events and programs.
What We Are Looking For:
- 3-8 years of HR experience in the NA region, with deep understanding of local employment law. Expertise in Canadian regulations is a plus.
- BA/BS degree with an emphasis in HR or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to communicate confidentially with different stakeholders and various levels of employees.
- Excellent user orientated mindset and organizational skills.
- High sense of discretion & integrity with confidential and sensitive information.
- A can-do, ownership and improvement mindset for the HR function.
- Strong hands-on drive and strategic mentality.
- Able to form relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.).
- Have the courage to push yourself to unknown challenges.
- Strong English and Chinese language skills.
- A passion for our products or games is a plus.
Benefits:
The base pay range for this position is $80,000 to $135,000 USD per year. Actual pay is based on location and may vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience from the candidate.
