Job Description

Enphase Energy is seeking a Lab Engineer to manage and maintain their hardware lab, ensuring test setups are available for software development and testing. The role involves day-to-day lab operations, inventory control, equipment installation and calibration, and ensuring safety and compliance. The engineer will also design and assemble test fixtures, perform hardware rework, and debug systems. This position is crucial for supporting Enphase's next-generation energy technologies.

Must have:

Manage and maintain engineering labs.
Control lab inventory and assets.
Handle POs, invoices, and deliveries for lab equipment.
Install and calibrate hardware, manage software licenses.
Ensure lab safety, regulatory, and security compliance.
Design and assemble test fixtures, wire harnesses, and PCBAs.
Prioritize lab needs from various engineering teams.
Manage the lab purchase order process.
Assemble electro-mechanical systems.
Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Perform hardware teardown, soldering, and rework.
Work with 120V/240V AC systems.
Debug systems with limited support.
Possess a diploma in electrical/electronics engineering with 5+ years experience.
Demonstrate good oral and written communication.
Work autonomously.
Have working knowledge of Linux and MS tools.
Understand energy storage, microgrid, and renewable energy systems.
Experience with Python or similar programming languages.

Good to have:

Experience with IoT based systems

About the role:

Be responsible for Hardware lab where diﬀerent set of test setups are available always thereby assuring Enphase SW has suﬀicient test setup for their development and testing needs.

Enable Enphase to succeed in market by building the hardware lab with new components developed by Enphase and making sure the existing test set up is up and running always.

What you will do:

Perform Day-to-day managing, prioritizing, and maintaining of the engineering labs
Perform lab tools and equipment inventory control, asset management, PO management, invoice payment and delivery management
Perform equipment hardware installation and calibration, software licensing and renewal management (examples of equipment include power analysers, scopes, AC and DC power sources, AC and DC electronic loads, serial communication devices, electric panels, breakers, relays… etc)
Drive lab space safety, regulatory and security processes compliance
Design and assemble any needed test ﬁxtures, wire harnesses, including but not limited to simple PCBA design and assembly
Experience prioritizing and accommodating lab/equipment needs from various engineering teams
Experience with lab PO process: from quotation, purchase, payment to delivery
Knowledge in the assembly of electro-mechanical systems
Experience understanding electrical and mechanical drawings
Creative problem solving, experience ﬁguring out ways to get things done quickly, eﬀiciently, and professionally
Familiarity with typical shop/lab tools, and the skill to build things using such tools
Hands-on experience with electrical hardware teardown, solder and rework
Familiarity with 120V/240V AC systems

Who you are and what you bring:

Diploma in electrical/electronics engineering or a similar ﬁeld, with 5+ years of experience in a related ﬁeld,
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work autonomously, with little direction
Should be able to debug the system with limited support
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge with Linux machines
Computer literacy, including MS tools
Experience with Linux commands and troubleshooting experience
Understanding of energy storage, microgrid and renewable energy systems
Experience with Python or similar programming languages
Experience with IoT based systems is desirable
