Lead 3D Character Artist with 3+ years experience in managing a team of 3D artists. Must have proficiency in 3D modeling, texturing, mobile & PC game development, and 3D optimization. Experience with stylization and anatomy is essential.
You are our person if you have:
- 3 or more years of experience in managing a department of 3D artists
- professional knowledge of 3D modeling packages (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush)
- great texturing skills (Substance Designer/Painter, Photoshop)
- work experience in creating models for mobile platforms and PC
- understanding of principles of 3D content optimization for game engines
- knowledge and understanding of principles of composition, lighting, and color
- excellent knowledge of anatomy
- experience in working with moderate stylization
- ability to feel proportions, read the concept
- understanding of the process of baking textures from high poly models
- competency in working with UV maps
- understanding of the PBR pipeline
- relevant portfolio with examples of successful released projects
Will come in handy:
- art education
- experience with Unity, basic understanding of how shaders work
- understanding of skinning principles
- hand-paint texturing skills
- experience working with version control systems (Git/SVN)
- vast gaming experience, an eye for a good design
Some points on tasks:
- close cooperation with the art director, concept artists, 3D animators, and technical artists to create high-quality 3D models of characters, weapons, environment objects, and tech
- forming a pipeline for producing 3D graphics and monitoring the team at every stage
- creating Hi/Lo models of characters and objects based on concepts
- forming a pool of tasks for the 3D department, estimating time frames, and providing feedback
- developing, maintaining, and keeping check of the visual style of produced 3D models
- solving technical and artistic tasks in the 3D department
- creating the department's art documentation and keeping it up to date
