Job Description

As a Legal Trainee at Google, you'll contribute to the regional Legal team, handling legal challenges related to Google and YouTube services. Responsibilities include responding to legal requests, assisting in court actions and analysis, supporting various projects (e.g., product localization, marketing assessments, agreement review), conducting legal research (privacy, copyright, consumer law, etc.), and maintaining internal knowledge databases. The role offers insight into diverse legal issues in a fast-paced environment, focusing on innovative approaches to 21st-century legal problems. This 12-month fixed-term contract provides valuable experience in a dynamic legal setting.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in Law from a Swiss University
Fluent English and German
Respond to legal requests
Assist in court actions and analysis
Conduct legal research
Maintain internal knowledge databases

Good to have:

Data protection, IP, copyright, technology, or media law background
Experience in fast-paced environments
Law firm or media/technology company experience
Fluent French or Italian

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Law from a Swiss University.
Ability to communicate in English and German fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

Academic curriculum including either data protection, intellectual property, copyright, technology, or media law.
Experience working on numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Experience building relationships and communicating with people at all levels.
Experience in a law firm or in a media/technology company.
Ability to communicate in French or Italian fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
Available to start in between February and March 2025 for a 12 month fixed-term contract.

As a Legal Trainee, and part of the regional Google Legal team, you will play an important role in helping us to respond to some of the legal tests of the information age.

Responsibilities

Respond to various legal requests from users and third-parties in relation to Google services and resolve internal escalations.
Assist the Legal team in the preparation, management of court actions, and in subsequent analysis.
Assist in a variety of projects, such as the localization of new Google Products, marketing assessments, and the review and drafting of agreements.
Conduct research on a variety of legal topics and new regulations in the field of privacy, copyright, consumer law, media regulations, advertising, competition law, etc.
Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases for the Legal team.
