Continually investing in global technology and services across the spectrum of distribution channels including: Asset Managers, Financial Advisors, Wealth Managers and large financial institutions such as Banks and Insurers. SS&C also services mutual fund structures in many other fund domiciles.
Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) is the business unit offering this role. GIDS delivers global omni-channel investor servicing, including contact centre, using digital services.
About the role
As the Mobile App Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in leading our mobile development efforts, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality mobile applications that meet the needs of our clients in the financial services sector. You will lead a team of talented developers working primarily with React Native and React.js, driving the technical vision, architecture, and implementation of our mobile solutions.
Your Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of mobile developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Architecture & Design: Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and secure mobile applications using React Native and related technologies. Collaborate with architects and other technical leads to define the overall mobile architecture.
- Project Management: Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables. Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Development: Participate in hands-on coding, particularly for complex and high-impact components. Drive continuous improvement in code quality, performance, and user experience.
- Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, QA engineers, and DevOps, to ensure seamless integration and deployment of mobile applications.
- Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile development trends, tools, and technologies. Evaluate and implement new technologies that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the development process.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all mobile applications are thoroughly tested and meet the highest standards of quality, security, and performance. Work with QA teams to establish automated testing processes where possible.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for all mobile projects, ensuring that knowledge is shared across the team and organization.
Your skills :
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in mobile application development, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in React Native and React.js, with a deep understanding of mobile app architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading and mentoring development teams, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Financial Services Knowledge: Familiarity with the financial services industry, including relevant regulations and security requirements, is a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile development environments, with a solid understanding of Agile principles and practices.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and mobile CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of native iOS/Android development and integration with React Native.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
