About Team: PICO is a leading VR/AR platform with independent innovation and R&D capabilities, focusing on VR all-in-one technology. PICO is committed to offering immersive and interactive VR experiences to our customers, including providing tailor-made solutions for our enterprise clients in the fields of education and healthcare This role will be involved in developing eye tracking systems using a variety of optical sensing and computer vision techniques. You will take part in designing and prototyping eye tracking systems, performing data analysis, establishing end to end hardware, image quality and algorithm performance correlation. - Design and prototype new eye tracking system architectures, focus on exploring & developing novel optical components (such as refractive and diffractive optical components, VCSELs) and techniques (waveguide, HOE, metalens) to improve eye tracking system performance - Work with vendors to establish methods for key optics components mass production.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: - Experienced in refractive optics design, modeling, manufacturing - Experienced in prototyping optical systems, design experiments and data analysis - Proficient in commercial optical/photonics design softwares - Familiar with various diffractive optics, light sources - Proficient in Matlab, Python or C++ Preferred Qualifications: - MS or PhD degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field - Having image processing and/or machine learning algorithm development experience is a plus - Having relevant experience in the field of eye tracking system development is a plus - Effective oral and written communication skills - Experience in building partnerships and working with internal and external cross-functional teams ByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $162000 - $408000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
