Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour is seeking an Overnight Front Desk All Rounder to provide quality service to guests. This role involves managing check-ins, check-outs, and guest requests efficiently and courteously. Responsibilities include maintaining guest and hotel accounts, operating the telephone system professionally, completing daily shift checklists, and accurately transferring registration card details to reservations in the Opera system. The position also requires awareness of VIP arrivals, group activity, and crew movements, along with proficiency in the Opera Front Desk system and cashiering. A key aspect is demonstrating 'Passion for Excellence' by serving guests with flair and professionalism, ensuring personalized service and embodying French hospitality with a 'can do' attitude. The role operates on an overnight shift from 11 PM to 7 AM.

Job Description

Please note that the required working hours for this role is 11pm - 7am

  • Provide quality service to the customer by responding to their requests promptly, efficiently and courteously during check-in, check-out and throughout their stay.
  • Maintain control of guest and hotel accounts ensuring that all charges are accurate and posted on a timely basis.
  • Operate telephone effectively, handling all calls promptly and professionally, greeting all callers according to Accor policy.
  • Complete the daily shift check list, referring any items that require follow up to the Front Desk Supervisor or Duty Manager.
  • Transfer all details on the registration card to the guest reservation in Opera accurately and efficiently, ensuring that future stays are updated with relevant needs and requests.
  • Be versed in the VIP arrivals and special requests for the day. 
  • Be aware of group activity and crew movements, liaising closely with the Front Desk Supervisor and/or Duty Manager, and assisting as required to prepare for such activity. 
  • Have extensive knowledge of the Opera Front Desk system with respect to reservations, check in, cashiering and check out.
  • Be fully versed in the Front Desk cashiering system, balancing each shift and resolving outstanding items.
  • Have an extensive knowledge of the hotel services and facilities. 
  • Demonstrate the “Passion for Excellence” through serving our guests with flair and professionalism, ensuring that their requests are quickly and efficiently achieved.
  • Ensure all guests are provided with personalised service and that the “Essence of Pleasure” is achieved.
  • Embody the art of French hospitality through a “can do” attitude.
  • Perform tasks within a timely manner.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of Sofitel Brand Standards.

Qualifications

  • Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail.  
  • Experience within a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Always display a professional appearance, representing our Sofitel brand. 
  • Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends & public holidays.
