CSG Forte is looking for a Senior Aurora PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team. The primary responsibility is to assist with the database migration from MS SQL to Aurora PostgreSQL. This senior-level position requires extensive experience in handling complex projects and providing expert guidance and support in Aurora PostgreSQL. Key responsibilities include database migration, administration, performance tuning, providing recommendations, monitoring and alerting, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation and collaboration with different teams. The role demands strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex database-related issues.
Must have:
  • 7 years of DBA experience
  • 3 years of Aurora PostgreSQL experience
  • Proficiency in Aurora PostgreSQL, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/pgSQL
  • Familiarity with database security best practices
Good to have:
  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS)
  • Knowledge of other database systems (e.g., MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle)
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)

CSG Forte is seeking an experienced Senior Aurora PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to support and assist with the database migration from MS SQL to Aurora PostgreSQL. This senior-level position requires extensive experience in handling complex projects and providing expert guidance and support in Aurora PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Migration: Lead and support the migration of databases from MS SQL to Aurora PostgreSQL, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.
  • Administration: Manage and maintain Aurora PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing, and resource management.
  • Recommendations: Provide expert recommendations on best practices for database design, architecture, and implementation.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Implement and manage monitoring and alerting systems to ensure database health and performance.
  • Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including backups, recovery, and security measures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, providing timely support to development and engineering teams.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to support project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a DBA, with at least 3 years of experience specifically in Aurora PostgreSQL.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Aurora PostgreSQL, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and backup/recovery. Knowledge of SQL and PL/pgSQL. Familiarity with database security best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Certifications: PostgreSQL certification is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS).
  • Knowledge of other database systems (e.g., MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
