Job Description

As a Previz Artist, you will create complete movie sequences, videos, and footage to support the director's vision. This involves using 3D graphics, motion capture, keyframe animation, and mixed media to craft compelling and action-packed game experiences. Responsibilities include creating sequences with excellent pacing, acting, cinematography, editing, and timing, as well as communicating with designers and leads to improve visual storytelling. This role requires an understanding of both narrative and gameplay requirements.
Must have:
  • Create movie sequences with excellent pacing and timing.

  • 3 years of experience as a Previz Artist.
  • Proficiency in camera animation and motion capture.
  • Excellent understanding of acting.
Good to have:

  • Experience in directing actors and/or acting.
  • Experience with keyframe animation.
  • Experience with working with a screenplay.
  • Proficiency in storyboarding/drawing

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced, talented and creative Previz Artist to join the CD PROJEKT RED team dedicated to crafting the studio’s first-ever original IP and video game, codenamed Project Hadar. We believe the universe we are creating is one bursting with limitless potential, and we want you to help us broaden and utilize it, making sure it not only matches gamers’ high expectations set by past CD PROJEKT RED titles but exceeds them.

In this position you will be responsible for creating complete movie sequences, videos and footage that help support the director’s vision through the appropriate use of time efficient 3D graphics, motion capture, key frame animation, mixed media and or illustration. Together, with our storytellers and game designers, you will create game experiences that are compelling and emotional or spectacular and bursting with action. We have them all! 

Daily responsibilities

  • Creating complete movie sequences with excellent pacing, acting, cinematography, editing, and timing.
  • Communicating with Designers and Leads across company departments to improve readability of the visual storytelling that understand both narrative and gameplay requirements.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional understanding of film language and how to use it to create coherent and memorable scenes and sequences that convey desired emotions.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Previz Artist in the game or film industry.
  • Proficiency in camera animation and experience working with motion capture animation.
  • Excellent understanding of acting, including posing and timing.
  • Strong knowledge of all visual language basics, such as light value, editing, staging, and frame composition.
  • Ability to understand game design and to convey its visualization.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to company proprietary software.
  • Being a self-motivated team player.
  • Technical problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the following tools: MotionBuilder, Maya, Blender, Unreal Engine.
  • Experience in directing actors and/or acting.

Additional Information

Working mode

  • Relocation to Warsaw is required.
  • Office-First: working primarily from the Warsaw studio in a full time or hybrid mode.
