Job Description

The Senior Technical Artist will play a pivotal role in optimizing art production workflows and asset pipelines for AAA game development. Responsibilities include developing and implementing technical art strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams (artists, engineers, planners), building and testing visual prototypes, and ensuring efficient workflows. The role requires expertise in 3D modeling software (3DS Max, Maya, Blender, Houdini), scripting languages (MaxScript, Python, C#), shader programming (GLSL, HLSL, CG), and game performance optimization. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of experience in technical art, with a deep understanding of AAA game production pipelines, and proficiency in real-time rendering. The position demands strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills, along with fluency in English or Chinese. Additional experience in rigging, lighting, cutscenes, and procedural workflows is highly desirable.

1.アーティスト側限られたリソースで高品質な製品を作成できるように、アート制作フローの策定とアセットの最適化を担当する;

2.他のテクニカルアーティスト、アーティスト、フロントエンドエンジニア、エンジンレンダリングエンジニア、プランナーなどと協力し、プロジェクトのニーズに基づいてテクニカルアートの方針を策定し、実行を推進し、プロジェクトの円滑な開発を確保する;

3.見た目検証用のプロトタイプを開発/検証して、アーティストと一緒に生産フローとツールなど本生産の仕様決める;

4.複数のアートモジュールの開発パイプライン構築に参加し、ツールの最適化とワークフロー効率向上のための提案を行う;

5.ゲームチームにパイプライン、ワークフロー、ツールの技術的な要件を提示し、ゲームチームの製品目標を満たす;

6.技術的な規範の策定、実施、運用を推進し、パフォーマンス分析と最適化を行い、最適化方針を策定する;

7.プランナーチームとのミーティングに参加し、テクニカルアート側の技術提案に関するスケジュールの打ち合わせを行う;

8.現在および将来の業界のワークフロー、ツール、パイプライン、技術分野の情報を把握した上、新技術をプロジェクトチームに導入することを推進すること;

9.新人テクニカルアーティストの採用と育成を行い、テクニカルアートチームの他のメンバーと共に技術研究と共有を行う;

10.チーム内のアーティスト/テクニカルアーティスト向けのドキュメントの作成およびメンテナンスを担当すること。

Job Description

1.  Develop and optimize art production workflows and asset pipelines to help artists create high-quality visuals while working within resource constraints.

2.  Collaborate with technical artists, artists, front-end engineers, engine rendering engineers, and planners to define and implement technical art strategies that align with project needs, ensuring seamless development.

3.  Build and test visual prototypes, working closely with artists to establish production specifications, workflows, and tool requirements.

4.  Contribute to the development of art production pipelines, propose tool optimizations, and enhance workflow efficiency.

5.  Provide technical guidance on pipelines, workflows, and tools, ensuring they support the project’s artistic and technical goals.

6.  Establish and enforce technical standards, conduct performance analysis and optimization, and formulate improvement strategies.

7.  Participate in planner team meetings, coordinating schedules and providing technical art solutions that align with project milestones.

8.  Stay informed on industry trends, workflows, tools, pipelines, and emerging technologies, and drive the adoption of innovative solutions within the team.

9.  Support the recruitment and training of new technical artists while collaborating with team members to advance technical research and knowledge sharing.

10.  Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for artists and technical artists, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer and efficient workflows.

Who We Look For

1.アート、デザイン、コンピュータサイエンスまたは関連分野の学士号を持ち、少なくとも5年のテクニカルアートまたは関連業務の経験を持ち、少なくとも1〜2の主機/PC AAAゲーム開発経験を有すること;

2.AAAゲームの背景、キャラクター、エフェクトなどセクションの制作フローを把握してること(いずれかを満たせばOK);

3.3DS Max、Maya、Blender、Houdiniなどの実務経験(いずれかを満たせばOK);

4.アニメーション、リギング、ライティング、カットシーンなどの実務経験(いずれかを満たせばOK);

5.MaxScript、Python、C#などの言語でスクリプトやプログラミングを扱う一定の知識があること(いずれかを満たせばOK);

6.リアルタイムレンダリングパイプラインに理解できる、GLSL、HLSL、CGなどの少なくとも1つのShaderプログラミング言語を使ったことあること;

7.あるプラットフォーム(PS5/PC/Mobile中の一つ)の特長と制限を理解し、2Dまたは3Dアートの作品あること;

8.ゲームパフォーマンスの最適化と関連ツールに豊富な経験があること;

9.優れた時間管理、優先順位決め、技術の実行推進能力、優れたドキュメント作成スキルと習慣を持っていること;

10.良好な協力とコミュニケーション能力を持ち、中国語または英語に堪能で、英語の技術文書や論文を流暢に読むことができること;

歓迎条件

リギング、ライティング、カットシーン、ポストプロセスの実務経験あること; プロトタイプから量産までのAAAゲーム開発経験があること; フォトリアルレンダリング関連の技術に対して深い理解を持っていること; AAAゲームもしくはハリウッド映画VFX部分の制作フローを把握していること; Unreal Engineの経験があること; プロシージャルワークフロー(SD、SP、Houdiniなど)の実務経験あること;

Qualifications

1.  Bachelor's degree in Art, Design, Computer Science, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in technical art or a similar role, and at least one or two AAA console/PC game development projects.

2.  Deep understanding of AAA game production workflows in environments, character modeling, or VFX(experience in any of these areas is acceptable).

3.  Proficiency in 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, or Houdini (any of these tools is acceptable).

4.  Experience in animation, rigging, lighting, or cutscene production (any relevant experience is acceptable).

5.  Solid scripting and programming knowledge in MaxScript, Python, or C# (any of these languages is acceptable).

6.  Strong understanding of real-time rendering pipelines, with experience in GLSL, HLSL, or CG shader programming.

7.  Familiarity with platform-specific (PS5/PC/Mobile) technical requirements and constraints, with experience creating 2D or 3D assets.

8.  Extensive experience in game performance optimization and related toolsets.

9.  Excellent time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with strong documentation habits.

10.  Strong collaboration and communication skills, with fluency in Chinese or English, and the ability to read and comprehend technical papers and documentation in English.

Preferred Qualifications

 Hands-on experience in rigging, lighting, cutscenes, and post-processing.

 Proven track record in AAA game development, from prototyping to full-scale production.

 Deep expertise in photorealistic rendering techniques.

 Familiarity with AAA game or Hollywood VFX production pipelines.

 Experience working with Unreal Engine.

 Proficiency in procedural workflows using Substance Designer, Substance Painter, or Houdini.
