Job Description

As a Product Definition Engineer, you will produce and check Component definitions, such as Model Based Definitions (MBDs), in accordance with Engineering Standards to meet design intent. You will ensure the fit, form, and function of the component while optimizing for manufacture. The role involves contributing to the Group Engineering, Technology & Safety (ET&S) Strategy and supporting the automation workstreams and Digital Transformation Strategy within the Digital Design and Industrialization (DD&I) Team. This position offers technical growth and opportunities to drive forward the Product Definition Capability, enabling future efficiencies within Engineering. It requires a strong understanding of design and manufacturing processes.
Must have:
  • Associates Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1+ years of experience
  • Master's degree in Engineering, OR
  • PhD in Engineering
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Experienced in using Siemens NX and Teamcenter is essential
  • Experience in using ISO and/or ASME Y14.5M drawing standards
Good to have:
  • Highly numerate with good technical and analytical skills.
  • Problem-solving ability and capable of systems level thinking.
  • Have appropriate engineering experience in conceptual and detail design

Job Title: Product Definition Engineer

Working Pattern: Full time

Working location: Indianapolis, IN/Hybrid – (3 Office Days/Week)

As a Product Definition Engineer your main task will be to produce and (where adequate capability has been demonstrated) check Component definitions (such as Model Based Definitions - MBDs) in line with Engineering Standards to meet design intent, satisfying fit, form and function of the component whilst
optimizing for manufacture.

What you will be doing:

As a Product Definition Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in enabling the delivery of our Group Engineering, Technology & Safety (ET&S) Strategy. This role sits within the Digital Design and Industrialization (DD&I) Team.  This role includes an opportunity to grow technically alongside driving forward the Product Definition Capability. It also includes Supporting delivery of the automation workstreams (such as MBD) and Digital Transformation Strategy, enabling future efficiencies within Engineering.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience OR,
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1+ years of experience
  • Master's degree in Engineering, OR
  • PhD in Engineering
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experienced in using Siemens NX and Teamcenter is essential and Experience in using ISO and/or ASME Y14.5M drawing standards is essential.
  • Highly numerate with good technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability and capable of systems level thinking.
  • Have appropriate engineering experience in conceptual and detail design, detail definition methods and a good understanding of manufacturing techniques.
