HB Studios is looking for a Project Coordinator to join their team in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality games on time and within budget. You must have 2-4 years of experience in project management and a knowledge of the game development life cycle. Experience with Jira and Agile/Waterfall methodologies is a plus.

HB Studios is a driving force in the creation of sports video games and the studio behind PGA TOUR 2K Golf – presently working on Console and PC. We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team of developers, creators, and enthusiasts who are passionate about the art and process of video game development. In this role, you will collaborate with professionals to coordinate and deliver high-quality games on time and within budget. We’re looking for an individual with strong interpersonal skills and a desire to enhance processes, methods, and tools to optimize team and departmental performance. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain schedule and resource capacity plan and facilitate communication between PODs regarding resource sharing. 
  • Collaborate with Production and Departmental Leads to build and plan tasks based on project milestones and deliverables.
  • Support the development team by prioritizing tasks, identifying risks and dependencies, and providing solutions. 
  • Own and maintain the Jira project management tool while ensuring effective usage and adherence standards across the team. 
  • Provide continuous support for evolving Jira needs across all departments, ensuring tasks are created and maintained.
  • Coordinate Sprint Planning and managing dependencies across multiple teams.
  • Conduct daily stand-ups, retrospective, and review meetings to address blockers and track progress.
  • Handle and communicate risks, dependencies, and change requests that may impact project planning and budgets.
  • Evaluate and identify process deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Facilitate the delivery of key information to appropriate partners, including Production Reports, Build notes, team absences, and velocity/burndown data.
  • Support the setup of Dashboards and tracking for Bugs.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Typically, 2 to 4+ years of industry experience in project management. 
  • Experience in project coordination for shipping game titles, preferably AAA. 
  • Knowledge of the game development life cycle, theory, and technology.
  • Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and working with external partners. 
  • Familiarity with project management standards and methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Shotgrid, Jira, Confluence). 
  • A problem-solver with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions. 
  • An effective communicator and reliable teammate, capable of working independently when needed.
