This part-time Salon Stylist position at Walt Disney World requires a Florida Cosmetology license with at least one year of experience. Must have:

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $14.00 per hour, plus commission and gratuities.

This posting is to gather interest in a bench for future openings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional hair, makeup, and nail services, as well as create up-dos to any type of special occasion including bridal party and bridal makeup
  • Engage with guests by recognizing and greeting them, addressing their needs, answering their questions while checking to ensure they are happy throughout service
  • Manage and keep a clean station and sanitize all tools; follow all salon protocol, policies, and procedures; perform prep work, clean and restock room; care for equipment and use of accurate amounts of product for cost-efficiency
  • Physical role requiring heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending; able to use hands, using repetitive wrist motion twisting; able to stand during prolonged periods of time while providing treatments
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required; may handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Meet retail sales goals by promoting spa treatments, services, retail, and promotions
  • Provide guest service when problems arise and conflict resolution with a critical balance of integrity and partner resourcing
  • Part-time requires minimum 3 days of full availability for any shift per week including nights and holidays
  • Full-time requires full availability for any shift, any day of the week including nights and holidays

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Hold and maintain a Cosmetology license with the state of Florida with at least one (1) year of experience as a licensed stylist
  • Must successfully pass a Salon Stylist Assessment
  • Proficient with makeup services by using different makeup colors, textures, and application techniques
  • Proficient with hot irons, curlers, and blow-dryers and has a wide pallet of hair styling and coloring techniques
  • Proficient in all-gender hair styles, nail, and make up
  • Proficient in current product trends with in-depth understanding of all product ingredients to avoid allergic reactions
  • Can deliver clear and concise verbal and written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding
  • Able to work with limited direct leadership, can work independently in a fast-paced salon, while also being punctual, detail oriented, and having excellent time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with standard office software programs
  • Previous experience working in a spa or hotel
  • Passion and knowledge of Disney Products is a plus!
  • Familiar with the Walt Disney World Resort and surrounding areas

SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am. Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.
