Job Details
Jam City is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior 3D Artist to join our Cookie Jam team in Carlsbad! The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in 3D modeling, scene lighting, and rendering, with a proven ability to bring concept art to life. This role demands both an artistic eye and technical expertise in the context of mobile gaming.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate closely with the Art Director, Art Lead, and cross-functional teams to design and build stunning 3D worlds, expressive characters, and other game assets.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of materials and shaders to achieve realistic textures.
- Execute advanced texturing and UV mapping to ensure optimal performance and visual quality.
- Apply sophisticated lighting and rendering techniques to create immersive and visually consistent environments.
- Work hand-in-hand with the Art Director and other team members to establish compelling lighting setups that enhance gameplay and maintain stylistic consistency.
- Develop and document lighting guidelines and implementation techniques for use across the team.
- Collaborate on the development of color grading looks and ensure consistent application across all environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in Maya, ZBrush, and Photoshop, with the ability to produce high-quality assets efficiently.
- Basic understanding of substance designer/painter for texturing
- Extensive experience working in Unity, with a focus on mobile game development.
- Advanced skills in 3D modeling and scene lighting, with a strong portfolio demonstrating these abilities.
- Proven expertise in rendering techniques.
- Ability to create mood and atmosphere through light, shadow, and color.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively within both small and large teams.
- Experience solving complex problems across multiple platforms and pipelines.
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for this role. The range listed is just one component of Jam City's total compensation package for employees, which may also include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, certifications, location, business needs, or market demands. This range is based on a full-time position. This range may be modified in the future. In addition, Jam City provides a variety of benefits to employees, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, life, disability, and accident insurance. Pay Range: $94,000 — $123,000 salary per year.
