Job Description

This is a Senior Android Framework Developer role for a new in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) project at a major European car manufacturer. The project uses Android Automotive OS and requires developing robust and reusable solutions for Car Framework & V-HAL development in an embedded environment. Responsibilities include developing embedded Android services and components with AOSP middleware, Java middleware Car services, HALs for vehicle components, and resolving defects. The role involves design, documentation, and unit testing. The candidate will collaborate with an international team and work with cutting-edge technologies.

Must have:

5+ years Java experience
5+ years C++ experience
Android Framework development (AOSP)
V-HAL experience
Embedded software development
AOSP internals & Android NDK APIs
Android Native Daemon services

Good to have:

Android Automotive experience
Automotive Infotainment systems experience

Project description

This is a good opportunity to participate in the new in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) project for one of the biggest European car maker. This is a very fast growing project which requires talented software developers and test engineers who likes challenges and new cutting edge technologies. Applicant will have the possibility to gain experience in development or integrating/testing of different functionalities. Candidate will be part of the international team and have the opportunity to work with the latest software technologies like Android Automotive OS.

Responsibilities

As an Android Framework Developer for Android IVI, you will be involved to collaborate and develop solutions for Car Framework & V-HAL development on an embedded environment, which are robust and reusable.

Develop Embedded Android services and components with AOSP middleware for IVI system

Develop Java middleware Car services to support embedded Android applications

Develop HAL for Vehicle specific components

Root cause defects and provide robust software solutions

Participate in design, documentation, and unit testing to develop software components

Skills

Must have

Java programming language experience 5y+

C++ programming language experience 5y+

Android Development experience (AOSP) developing or enhancing Android Framework services to support Android Applications interfaces

Hands-on experience in addition of Vendor specific properties in V-HAL

Software development experience on embedded, mobile, or consumer electronic platforms

Experience with AOSP internals and Android NDK APIs

Experience implementing Android Native Daemon services

Nice to have

Experience & knowledge of Android Automotive

Experience in Automotive Infotainment systems
