About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant who will play a key role in scaling and improving our accounting operations. This is a hands-on position where you’ll manage key accounting processes, support financial close, and drive efficiency through automation and continuous improvement.

In this role, you’ll own core accounting responsibilities, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and collaborate cross-functionally to simplify financial processes. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love problem-solving, and enjoy finding smarter ways to work, this role is for you.

What You'll Be Doing

• Take ownership of key accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and global standards.
• Strengthen internal controls and SOX compliance, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.
• Introduce automation, AI, and new technology to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Drive process improvements to make financial operations faster, smoother, and more scalable.
• Partner with teams across Canva to simplify financial processes, provide insights that drive better decision-making, and enhance financial understanding across the company.
• Support audits and regulatory requirements, working closely with external auditors and internal teams.

What We're Looking For

You're a strategic, hands-on Senior Corporate Accountant who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building scalable financial processes. You’re someone who:

• Has corporate accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance experience—ideally in a high-growth or public company.
• Has a strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
• Is a problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys optimizing processes.
• Has excellent communication skills—you can simplify complex financial concepts for non-financial teams.
• Is passionate about automation, technology, and improving workflows.
• Has experience working with ERP systems (bonus points for NetSuite!).

The Corporate Accounting team is focused on running a fast, accurate, and efficient financial close process while ensuring compliance, scalability, and continuous improvement. We’re building the finance foundations that will support Canva’s rapid growth and long-term success.
