Job Description

As the IT Manager for the Holiday Inn Express Mumbai Powai and Voco Mumbai Powai Hotel & Convention Centre, you will be responsible for the overall IT functioning of both hotels. You will work closely with hotel management and IHG Corporate to ensure the planning and implementation of IT services meet all standards. Your responsibilities will include managing the IT team, implementing and maintaining accounting practices, ensuring financial control procedures and systems are ethical and legal, participating in local professional and industry organizations, and managing hotel contracts. You will also be responsible for helping guests with any IT-related needs and ensuring all accounting practices are compliant with IHG standards.

Holiday Inn Express Mumbai Powai and Voco Mumbai Powai Hotel & Convention Centre, an exceptional dual-brand hospitality complex coming up in the vibrant Powai district of Mumbai. This complex would offer a combined room inventory of 294 Rooms with extensive MICE and convention offerings. Located just 8 kms away from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Mumbai and within proximity of IIM Mumbai Campus and famous Powai Lake.

HIEX Mumbai Powai features 160 rooms in a competitive market dominated by corporate and MICE segments. On the other hand, Voco Mumbai Powai, offers 134 stylish rooms, both complemented by comprehensive F&B & MICE options.

Guests at HIEX Mumbai Powai can enjoy meals at Fusion Restaurant and may use versatile event spaces which may cater upto 500 pax, while Voco Mumbai Powai offers a range of dining experiences from All Day Dining Restaurant of 96 Covers to the rooftop Skky Bar, alongside expansive banquet facilities including the boardroom and convention centre. Both the hotel would also offer other facilities like fitness centre, health clubs while Voco Mumbai Powai Hotel & Convention will have Spa with more than 5 treatment rooms cater to both relaxation and active pursuits.

What is the job?

Managing the IT functioning of the hotel as Head of Department and liaise with the hotel management and IHG Corporate office for planning and implementation of IT services as per standards.

Your day to day

People

  • Manage everyday activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers
  • Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals - recognise good performance
  • Train your team to make sure they deliver with compliance, to our standards and have the tools they need to work efficiently
  • Recommend or initiate any HR related actions where needed
  • Direct the team on how decision-making impacts profits
  • Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive – connect departments to create sense of one team

Responsible Business

  • Implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices as required by company policy and procedures
  • Ensure financial control procedures and systems are ethical and legal
  • Participate in local recognised professional and industry organisations
  • Manage hotel contracts (example: vendor leases and/or service contracts)
  • Other ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done

Financial

  • Use financial analysis, data trends and market information to anticipate needs, identify operating/financial issues, and recommend actions to maximise financial return
  • Create the annual operating budget for the property and provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities for department heads
  • Ensure all accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and oversee the process of credit extension and collection of overdue accounts
  • Review rates and recommend rate strategy to the General Manager; participate in sales strategy meetings
  • Manage accounts payable to balance cash flow and reputation with suppliers
  • Analyse ROI for capital projects prior to committing funds and, upon completion, determine if anticipated results were achieved
  • Maximise cash flow performance of the hotel through controls on inventory (avoid excessive supply), credit and collection, disbursements, deposits and remittances

Guest Experience

  • Help guests - you’ll be happy to help if someone needs assistance with a request or complaint
  • Ensure accounting practices, support the guest experience through payment options (e.g. credit card systems, room charges), inventory controls and financial dispute resolution

Accountabilities

  • This is the top Accounting job in a large, luxury, or resort hotel. Typically supervises clerical accounting employees in a full range of functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit/Collections, Purchasing, Audit, Payroll, and/or Accounting Operations

What We Need From You

  • Diploma or Vocational Certificate in Computer Science or IT or related field
  • 1 years’ related experience or with computer set-up and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of networks and operating systems and databases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge in PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards)
  • Great communication skills
  • A team player, proactive, responsible, hardworking and able to work under pressure
