Job Description

Google seeks a Senior Embedded Engineer specializing in Security/Privacy for its Pixel team. Responsibilities involve participating in design reviews, building secure infrastructure for software development and manufacturing, designing security features for future Pixel devices, improving testing and CI infrastructure, and hardening critical system software components. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of software development experience, 3+ years in data privacy/security, and expertise in embedded systems, cryptography, and security auditing. The role requires designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions to enhance Pixel device security and reliability.

Must have:

5+ years software development experience
3+ years data privacy/security experience
Embedded systems development expertise
Cryptography & security auditing knowledge
Design and build secure infrastructure
Develop security features for Pixel devices

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in Computer Science
Linux platform hardening/testing experience
Security risk assessment experience
Experience in security engineering, authentication, and security protocols

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
Experience in cryptography, application/network/systems security, or malware analysis, and in embedded systems development.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience in platform-level vulnerability hardening or testing in Linux.
Experience with security auditing and risk assessments.
Experience in security engineering, computer and network security, authentication, security protocols, and applied cryptography.

Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Design and build scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure to facilitate the entire software development processes and secure manufacturing for Pixel devices.
Research, design, and develop security features for future Pixel devices.
Improve infrastructures for fuzzing, testing, and CI.
Harden low-level system software components critical to Pixel security.
