Job Description

Google Cloud seeks a Software Engineer specializing in Platform Security. Responsibilities involve architecting and implementing automated security test infrastructure for hardware platforms, developing threat models and risk assessments, defining security requirements for hardware products, providing subject matter expertise to design and development teams, and conducting security reviews of hardware/firmware components. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience, at least two years of C++ coding experience, and expertise in debugging hardware, test setup, firmware, and software issues. A strong interest in all aspects of computer and network security is preferred. This role will contribute to the development of next-generation technologies within Google's data centers.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
2+ years C++ coding experience
Experience debugging hardware, firmware, and software
Architect and implement automated security tests
Develop threat models and risk assessments

Good to have:

Interest and experience in all aspects of computer and network security
Experience with the entire security lifecycle

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with C++ coding language.
Experience debugging issues relating to hardware, test setup, firmware,
and software.

Preferred qualifications:

Interest and experience in all aspects of computer and network security entire lifecycle from programming, operations, use (including user experience).

Architect and implement automated security test infrastructure and specific tests to ensure correct and sufficient implementation of security controls for hardware platforms.
Develop and refine threat models, risk assessments, and define security requirements for hardware products entering Google’s data centers.
Provide subject matter expertise to teams designing and developing the next generation data center hardware.
Scope and deliver comprehensive security reviews of hardware/firmware components.
