Job Description
Voodoo seeks a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to contribute significantly to the development of Blitz, its real-money gaming platform. Responsibilities include designing and implementing services within the existing microservice ecosystem, influencing technology stack choices, ensuring reliability and availability, and tackling complex back-end and infrastructure problems. The role demands strong back-end programming skills, a solid understanding of algorithms and databases, and the ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code. Experience with cloud infrastructure is essential.
Must have:
- 4+ years back-end experience
- Excellent Python skills
- Algorithm & database understanding
- Cloud infrastructure experience
- Microservice architecture knowledge
Good to have:
- Experience with Payment Service Providers
- Knowledge of frontend development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks)
- Kubernetes and Terraform experience

Team
Blitz is a gaming platform launched by Voodoo in 2021, allowing players to compete on mobile games for real cash prizes (head-up, tournaments, leagues, etc.). It is leveraging Voodoo’s unique game portfolio to engage users in a fun and rewarding way.
Role
We are looking for a talented Senior Backend Engineer (Python) who will play a key role in the development of Blitz, our real-money gaming platform.
- Design and implement services that plug and play with the existing microservice ecosystem
- Contribute to choice of the technology stack and observe best practices for reliability and availability
- Explore and solve open-ended problems that span across the back-end and infrastructure
Profile
- Excellent back-end programming skills with 4+ years of experience
- A good understanding of the basics of algorithms and databases
- Write readable, maintainable, and testable code
- Experience with any cloud infrastructure provider (AWS, GCP, etc.)
- The willingness to learn and evolve
- Experience writing production-grade systems in Python
- Experience with microservice architecture and highly distributed systems
- Experience with Payment Services Providers
- Knowledge of frontend development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks associated (Bootstrap, JQuery, Vue.js, …)
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Terraform
