NVIDIA's GPU Architecture group seeks a Senior GPU Power Architect to lead architecture efforts. Responsibilities include developing and enhancing GPU architecture features to improve power efficiency for graphics and deep learning workloads. This involves creating power models, defining new architectures, building supporting infrastructure, collaborating with architects and researchers, and driving improvements to development processes. The role requires expertise in hardware design, computer architecture, parallel processing, and familiarity with future programming models. The successful candidate will work closely with chip architects to understand system requirements and identify areas for power optimization across architecture, software, and hardware.
Must have:
  • MS in CS/EE/CE or equivalent
  • 8+ years GPU/CPU architecture experience
  • C++ and Python programming skills
  • Hardware design, computer architecture knowledge
  • Power model creation and architecture definition
Good to have:
  • Graphics algorithms expertise
  • Parallel processing and HPC knowledge
  • Signal processing understanding
  • Experience with simulators and RTL

Job Details

We are now looking for a Senior GPU Power Architect! The NVIDIA GPU Architecture group is looking for world class architects and software developers to join and lead our various architecture efforts. A key part of NVIDIA's strength is to innovate in the graphics and parallel computing fields delivering the highest performance in the world for parallel processing algorithms. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our GPU architecture and maintain our leadership by creating and maintaining accurate power models, defining new architectures and building new infrastructure that is required to make this successful. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing various features in the GPU architecture that advance the state of the art in power for graphics and deep learning workloads. You would interact with other world-class architects and researchers to build simulators and infrastructure to design and validate these new features.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work with chip architects to understand architecture concept and high-level system requirements

  • Identify key areas for power improvements across Architecture/Software/Hardware and develop new features, defining requirements and dependencies across various teams.

  • Creating power models of key GPU units to evaluate architectural tradeoffs in DL/ML (training/inference) and graphics workloads

  • Drive improvements to architecture development processes to improve execution capabilities.

  • Design new hardware power saving features for future graphics and parallel processing architectures.

  • Be knowledgeable about future parallel programming models and their impact to hardware.

  • Be hungry to learn and work on simulators, RTL and real silicon.

What we need to see:

  • MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience in GPU or CPU architecture (or other equivalent experience).

  • Programming ability in C++ and Python.

  • Background in hardware design, computer architecture, graphics algorithms, parallel processing, signal processing and/or high performance computing.

The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 425,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
