  • Strong alignment with Group Technology strategy and business goals.
  • Excellent project management skills and history of delivering software solutions.
  • In-depth technical expertise of technologies including design and implementation.
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams to build data solutions.
  • Deep understanding of Snowflake, AWS, and CICD architecture.

  • Familiarity with container services, ML modeling, native apps, and AI.

Role Profile 

We are a forward-thinking organization committed to improving innovative technology to drive our business forward. Our Group Technology strategy is at the core of our operations, and we are looking for a dynamic Senior Manager in the Data Engineering space to join our team! 

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Manager, Data Engineering, for Corporate Data Cloud (CDC) Team to lead our versatile team of developers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing software development strategies that align with our Group Technology strategy. This role requires a seasoned leader who can provide oversight in the design, development, and deployment of top-tier software solutions. Additionally, the candidate will work closely with the Enterprise Architect group to ensure cohesive and coordinated technology solutions 

This vacancy is available at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) based in our India, Bangalore campus. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Excel in Agile environments and efficiently manage the Product Development Life Cycle or Software Creation Process. 

  • Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of diverse technologies and consistently enhance knowledge in the Data Engineering domain, including Modern Data Warehouse architecture. 

  • Apply technology/domain plans that align with organizational goals and culture, collaborating with the Enterprise Architect team on key initiatives. 

  • Lead the delivery of sophisticated projects, ensuring high standards and quality within the team. Lead design efforts and collaborate with Product Owners and Quality Leads to deliver innovative solutions. 

  • Adapt to existing frameworks and supply to the development of new patterns for software delivery. 

  • Build and cultivate positive relationships with customers, promoting collaboration and clear communication. 

  • Lead Snowflake, DevOps/Automation, and Cloud Engineering portfolio for the Corporate Data Cloud team, driving impactful changes. 

  • Focus on tactical planning for the technical team, encompassing design and execution, and serve as an advisor to promote strategies across teams and divisions. 

  • Act as the CDC Bangalore Site Lead and People Leader, handling current and future teams arising from expansion or consolidation. 

  • Actively participate in industry events, workshops, conferences, and seminars to connect with leaders with vision and stay updated on emerging trends. 

  • Design, develop, and implement SAD-approved capabilities using agreed tooling and techniques within the Corporate Data Cloud (CDC). 

  • Ensure all work conforms to security, infrastructure, product, and other internal requirements. 

  • Represent CDC as a domain expert, capable of explaining our product suite and engaging with a wide audience. Offer technical guidance and support, empowering your team to make key decisions and learn from their experiences. 

  • Provide advice, mentorship, and assistance to disparate teams seeking integration. 

  • Work with vendor teams and technical delivery teams on Private Preview improvements to deliver Proof of Concept for LSEG. 

  • Ensure that all processes and documentation are adequate and effective to meet support and audit requirements. 

  • Provide frequent status reporting to partners, keeping them informed of progress and developments. 

 

Candidate Profile / Key skills 

  • Demonstrated experience in a senior management role within Data Engineering, with over 10 years in Technology or Data. 

  • Strong leadership abilities with a shown capacity to mentor and develop teams, encouraging collaboration and innovation, and managing stakeholders, people, and multiple groups to build and cultivate trusting relationships. 

  • Strong alignment with Group Technology strategy and business goals, ensuring all projects and initiatives support organizational objectives, and excellent project management skills with a history of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within scope. 

  • Possess in-depth technical expertise and knowledge of technologies, including design and implementation, to guide and support teams, and extensive knowledge of features and facilities for integration, communication among applications, databases, and technology platforms to build comprehensive business solutions. 

  • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand data requirements and build efficient data solutions, with a deep understanding of Snowflake, AWS, CICD architecture, and features, and familiarity with container services, ML modelling, native apps, and AI being a plus. 

  • Drive the assessment and implementation of new technological improvements to boost team efficiency and project outcomes. Share technical and strategic innovations with partners and management, highlighting the team's achievements and fostering collaboration! 

  • Documentation: Maintain system documentation in accordance with LSEG requirements.
