Job Description

Rocksteady Studios seeks a Senior Rendering Programmer for its upcoming unannounced AAA title. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing rendering features and systems for CPU and GPU, guiding artists in content creation and optimization, improving debug tools and workflows, and researching and implementing new rendering techniques. The ideal candidate possesses strong C++ skills, a deep understanding of cutting-edge rendering techniques, 3D math, current graphics hardware, APIs, and shader languages. Experience optimizing CPU, GPU, and assets is crucial. The role involves close collaboration with artists and tech artists to achieve the Art Director's vision and deliver a high-quality gaming experience across high-end PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and next-generation consoles.
Must have:
  • High-level C++ coding
  • Strong graphics background
  • Knowledge of rendering techniques & 3D math
  • Understanding of graphics hardware, APIs, and shaders
  • Game development experience on high-quality projects
Good to have:
  • Unreal Engine 5 experience
  • Familiarity with latest generation consoles

Rocksteady is looking for a Senior Rendering Programmer to join our
team working on our upcoming unannounced AAA title.

The role involves writing, extending, and optimising the sophisticated
graphics technologies that power our game. You’ll be refining existing
techniques, exploring new ones, and developing tools for more efficient
content creation.

You’ll also work closely with artists & tech artists to support them in
delivering the Art Director’s vision, and together come up with creative
solutions to deliver the highest quality game experience on our target
hardware, including high-end PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and the next
generation of consoles.

Responsibilities

  • Developing rendering features and systems

  • Profiling and optimising on CPU & GPU

  • Guiding artists in content creation and optimisation

  • Improving debug tools and development workflows

  • Researching, prototyping, and implementing new rendering techniques


Requirements

  • A high level of C++ coding and general technical ability

  • A strong graphics background with knowledge of cutting-edge rendering techniques and 3D maths

  • A good understanding of current graphics hardware, APIs and shader programming languages

  • Knowledge of a variety of CPU, GPU and asset optimisation approache

  • Professional game development experience on high quality projects


Bonus Points

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5

  • Familiarity with the latest generation of consoles

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
