Job Description

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, extend, and support the infrastructure for building services using Kotlin and Java. This role involves collaborating with teammates to deliver infrastructure improvements across Google, triaging system issues, and debugging/resolving problems. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Java/Kotlin development experience, expertise in data structures/algorithms, and experience with software design and architecture. The team works on infrastructure used by thousands of Google developers to build products serving billions of users. This role offers opportunities to make a lasting impact in API design, robust implementation, and service-oriented system architecture. The position requires proficiency in Java/Kotlin, a deep understanding of Google's infrastructure, and experience with large-scale systems.

Must have:

5+ years Java/Kotlin exp.
Data structures/algorithms expertise
Software design & architecture exp.
Experience with testing, maintaining, or launching software products
Design, implement, and support infrastructure

Good to have:

Experience with large-scale infrastructure
Contributions to large code base
Spring Boot experience
Passion for API design and building infrastructure

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in Java or Kotlin languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with developing large-scale infrastructure or making extensive contributions to a large code base.
Experience with Spring Boot.
Passion for Application programming interface (API) design and for building infrastructure.
