Job Description

Google Cloud seeks a Software Engineer III for Engineering Productivity. The role involves writing and reviewing code, participating in design reviews, contributing to documentation, debugging issues, and enhancing software solutions. Responsibilities include improving developer velocity, code quality, and code health through tools development (e.g., compilers, automated releases, testing frameworks). The ideal candidate has experience with software development, data structures, algorithms, and developer tool creation. Experience with accessible technologies is preferred. Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2+ years software development experience
2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
Code writing, review, and debugging
Design review participation

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in Computer Science
Experience building developer tools
Experience with accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
2 years of experience building developer tools that improve developer velocity, code quality and code health (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
