Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to contribute to the development and maintenance of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products. Responsibilities include writing and testing product/system code, conducting code reviews, addressing technical debt, improving testing/monitoring infrastructure, contributing to documentation, and troubleshooting system issues. The role requires proficiency in software development, data structures, and algorithms. Experience with large-scale systems, debugging, and GCP technologies (Kubernetes, Golang) is highly desirable. The engineer will work collaboratively with a team to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years software development experience
  • 2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms

  • Debugging and issue resolution

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
  • Basic familiarity with Kubernetes, Golang programming, and some combination of storage systems and technologies, AI/ML algorithms and workloads, or database workloads.

You will set up or improve test/monitoring/survey infrastructure or processes, and consider code health and system maintainability and scalability over time. You'll contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback. You'll triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
