About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

About the Role:

The Salesforce Competitive Intelligence (CI) team is looking for an experienced, empathetic leader with strong interpersonal skills and a track record of delivering on commitments, to fill the role of Sr. Manager, Competitor Intelligence.

The Sr. Manager of Competitive Intelligence will lead and orchestrate competitive analysis and deliverables focused on a primary competitor to Salesforce, in alignment with our Marketing Cloud business. This position demands a strategic mind, an inquisitive nature, and the ability to synthesize vast amounts of information into actionable insights. In addition, the role calls for tight collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Product, Product Marketing, Sales, and Enablement, to produce insightful POVs, competitive assets, and strategic programs to drive success.

We are looking for an individual with a strong competitive mindset and industry expertise, but also “Salesforce smart” with the ability to write, speak and think clearly and articulately. This position requires strong written and verbal communication as well as organizational skills, and the ability to manage deliverables across cross-functional teams.

Key qualities for success include a strong understanding of technology buyers and B2B sales processes, analytical problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial drive / work ethic, and results-orientation. This role is a hybrid of traditional roles in product analysis, strategy, technical marketing, and sales support – requiring a mix of skills including: research, writing, positioning, and business operational support.

We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation or age.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, monitor, and meaningfully articulate the designated competitor’s business and product strategies to a diverse set of internal and external audiences while ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Drive cooperation and collaboration with teams including Executives, Product, Marketing, Distribution, Market Strategy, Customer Success, Strategic Partnerships, and Business Value.
  • Uncover insights and trends that pinpoint areas of strength and weakness across our products, roadmaps, and sales motions.
  • Create compelling content (e.g., competitive sales guides, presentations) that effectively position Salesforce's differentiated value proposition versus competitors.
  • Provide credible, hands-on guidance to sales teams in both 1:1 and 1:many settings to help them effectively win against the competition.
  • Leverage competitive intelligence platforms, CRM, and analytics tools to streamline processes and generate insights.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5-8+ years hands-on experience working in enterprise SaaS, with exposure to competitive intelligence, management consulting, sales engineering, product management, or technical marketing.
  • Strategic analysis and understanding of the Marketing Technology landscape, including market trends, buyer profiles, and key vendors.
  • Writing and presentation skills including the ability to create and deliver compelling content to diverse audiences including executive management, product engineering, prospects, customers, salespeople, and partners.
  • Comfortable reaching out to and working with outside teams (including driving conversations with product and sales executives).
  • Attention to detail, including documenting analyses, results and processes to drive scale across the team.
  • Enjoy working in a team but also able to prioritize time to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent initiatives and quickly switch focus across domain areas.
  • Curious, analytical, innovative, and wildly creative — with the execution skills to make it happen.

Additional Role Details:

  • Experience in the high-tech sector (Cloud, SaaS) a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce’s technology portfolio: e.g., CRM, Slack, Tableau (highly desirable).
  • Experience working with Global teams across multiple timezones helpful.
