Staff Software Engineer for social sports gaming platform, requires expertise in Go, distributed systems, microservices and Apache Kafka.

Fliff unpacks sports gaming into social, free-to-play games for all types of sports fans. We've built a social sports gaming experience that allows users to compete for leaderboard positioning, to achieve badges and build their status within the game.

We are pioneering play-for-fun sports gaming, with our flagship social sportsbook experience that includes sweepstakes promotions and loyalty rewards. We provide sports fans with fun, engaging, and free-to-play alternatives to real money gaming.

If you are a true techie at heart, come join us! Fliff is seeking a seasoned Staff Software Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

The Role

Design, develop, and maintain high-performance distributed systems using Go
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Architect and implement scalable solutions to handle large volumes of traffic
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
Optimize backend systems for maximum performance, scalability, and reliability
Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality and reliability
Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews

Experience Required

7+ years of overall software development experience
Experience with distributed systems and microservices
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and best practices
Proficiency in Go or similar backend language
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in a production environment
Experience using AWS or another cloud provider
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
