The Superintendent will oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and schedule requirements. Responsibilities include managing the safety program, providing constructability analysis, preparing daily logs, tracking progress, reviewing payment requisitions, and managing commissioning. The role requires coordination with various internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and governmental agencies. This is a long-term project hire, reporting to a General Superintendent or Construction Manager. Experience in site development (attractions, commercial, residential, retail, or resort projects) is crucial.
Must have:
  • 7+ years field experience (or 5-7 years WDI experience)
  • OSHA 30 certified
  • AED/CPR certified
  • Proficient in construction management
  • Excellent coordination & communication skills
Good to have:
  • Applicable technical certifications
  • Stop the Bleed certified
  • H4/H5 Risks Superintendent experience

Job Summary:

Job Specific Scope - About the role and team

Construction Management is responsible for supervising and coordinating all on-site construction activities through installation on a project or multiple projects. Monitors safety, quality, and schedule in the field, while providing technical expertise and ensuring work in place meets quality requirements of contract documents, applicable codes, and Disney standards. Coordinates and interfaces with all WDI Studios, DLR / WDW Operations and Security, contractors, vendors, and governmental agencies. Construction Management is the primary responsible Studio for everything that happens on WDI construction projects, including all impact to Operations. This is a Long-Term Project hire role and will report to a (General Superintendent + or Construction Manager). 

What You will do:

Primary Duties:

•Takes the lead on ensuring work in the field meets quality requirements of contract documents, applicable codes, and to WDI / DX / Worldwide Safety Standards

• Manages the safety program in close coordination with WDI / DX / Worldwide Safety

• Provides constructability analysis and value engineering recommendations

• Prepares daily log of contractor work activities and compares against contractor's daily reports

• Tracks personnel on site, equipment used, and progress

• Verifies existing site conditions against design documents

• Reviews and approves progress payment requisitions

• Manages commissioning through turnover acceptance

• Reviews, approves and manages adherence of contractor QA/QC program

• Drives critical path, schedule, KSMs, and Milestone compliance — elevates to leaders as needed

• Facilitates contractor coordination with DX entities and related project WDI direct contractors and/or vendors (RCID, RCES, COA, Intertek PSI, Pest Management, Key Control/Locksmith Services, WDW / DLR warehouses, FAM, BVCC, retail, LOB's, etc.)

Technical Skills

You Will Have - Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:

Experience:

•Minimum 7 years outside field experience in applicable site development (attractions, commercial, residential, retail, or resort development projects) or 5-7 years WDI project field experience relevant to the area

Education:

• High school degree or equivalent +2 years of undergraduate schooling in related field of construction

Certifications / Licenses:

• Applicable technical certifications related to job specific role

• OSHA 30

• AED/CPR

• Stop the Bleed

• H4/H5 Risks
