Job Description
Google is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer, Interconnect in Taipei, Taiwan to improve the quality and reliability of interconnects (copper cables and connectors) throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include evaluating interconnect quality/reliability in manufacturing and data centers, driving improvements, investigating and coordinating failure analysis, isolating root causes, and collaborating with design, commodity, and supplier teams to implement solutions. The role involves driving quality improvement initiatives with suppliers and Google's engineering team, managing supplier scorecards, conducting supplier quality audits, and ensuring high standards in manufacturing, quality, and reliability. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field and 5+ years of relevant experience. A Master's degree and 10+ years of experience are preferred. The role involves approximately 30% travel.
Must have:

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience as a Component, Quality, Reliability, or Product Engineer in interconnect or copper cable commodities.
- Ability to travel 30% of the time.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience as a Component, Quality, Reliability, or Product Engineer in interconnect (e.g., copper cables and connectors) commodities.
- Ability to work in a changing environment.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Improve the quality and reliability of interconnects (e.g., copper cables and connectors) throughout the product life cycle.
- Evaluate interconnect quality/reliability in our Agreement Manufacturer and data centers, drive improvements, investigate and coordinate failure analysis, isolate root causes, and drive actions in collaboration with the design, commodity, and supplier teams.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives with suppliers and Google Engineering team.
- Manage quality section of supplier scorecards during business reviews and drive quality/reliability improvements.
- Conduct and manage supplier quality audits, driving quality in manufacturing, quality, and reliability.
