Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager II at Microsoft Azure, you'll work on software infrastructure powering millions of servers globally. You will collaborate with internal teams to facilitate Azure's centralized fleet adoption, improving delivery and reducing costs. Responsibilities include designing technical solutions with engineering teams, identifying risks, defining success criteria, implementing cross-functional features, coordinating team alignment, delivering roadmaps, tracking project schedules, developing implementation strategies, and driving continuous improvements through performance metric analysis. The role also involves customer support and direct customer engagement. This position requires experience managing cross-functional projects, a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field, and the ability to meet Microsoft's security screening requirements. The team embraces hybrid work.

Overview

As part of the Azure OneFleet Platform and Provisioning team, you will work on software infrastructure that powers millions of servers in datacenters around the globe and enables our 1st and 3rd party customers to run planet-scale services.

As a Technical Program Manager II on this team you will work with multiple internal customer teams to understand their workloads and help them adopt Azure’s centralized fleet to improve their delivery and reduce their cost of ownership. This opportunity will allow you to get broad exposure to the Microsoft businesses, hone your collaboration skills, and gain technical understanding of how the cloud runs. This team has fully embraced a hybrid mode of working, and is supportive of working from home or in the office.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree AND experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).

Responsibilities

  • You will work with Software and Hardware Engineering to design technical solutions. You’ll also identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.
  • You will define success criteria as you collaborate with others to implement features for cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across teams.
  • With minimal supervision, you will help deliver roadmaps for feature groups, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation, and stay updated with governance programs.
  • You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases and partnering with other departments to collect performance metrics.
  • You’ll also contribute to customer support and participate in direct customer engagements.
